Event Details

Tu B’Shevat is one of the four “New Years” in the Jewish Calendar, with the 15th of the Hebrew month Shevat celebrating the New Year of the Trees. We mark this holiday with a seder, a festive experience where we celebrate tree fruits and share together in enjoying their offerings. The Boulder JCC invites the community to explore the central role soil plays in our environment and climate. Lauren Gifford, Associate Director of the Soil Carbon Solutions Center at Colorado State University, will share her work harnessing the power of soils to restore our climate and support a thriving people and planet. We will root our learnings in Jewish tradition through ritual, text exploration, and service.

Our Tu B’Shevat seder will have tree fruits, wine and grape juices, and a delicious catered meal. Tailored toward adults and anyone 12 years of ages and older. Pre-registration is required.

Co-sponsored by Congregation Bonai Shalom, Congregation Har Hashem, Congregation Nevei Kodesh, Repair the World, and Tuv Ha’aretz.

Wednesday, January 24 | 6 – 8:30 pm | $36 (until January 19), $40 (after January 19)
