Dorota Glowacka, Professor of Humanities at the University of King’s College in Halifax, Canada, teaches critical theory, gender theory, Holocaust, and genocide studies. As a daughter of a Holocaust survivor, Professor Glowacka situates her research in the context of her family’s history. Join Professor Glowacka in discussion on the comparative perspectives of Hitler’s destruction of Eastern European Jewish cultural and religious institutions, literature and language  AND the frequent North American government efforts to remove Indigenous peoples from their land and systematically eliminate their language, culture, and religious practices. Learn the scope of the destruction of Eastern European Jewish culture and challenge how you remember the Holocaust as a singular experience in civilization.
