Event Details

Join Michelle Wolf and Susan Berman as we create an instant mini-choir! Rooted in Jewish wisdom, the music will include a range of melodies intended to delight and open hearts, as well as integrate songs from other folk/wisdom traditions, weaving in prayer, poetry, and story. All levels of musicality are welcome and no specific knowledge of Hebrew or Judaism is needed.

Michelle Wolf, Ba’lat Tefilah (Master of Prayer), is a lifelong vocalist with experience in a range of genres: classical, jazz, a cappella, and liturgy. She feels most on-purpose when leading sacred prayer and chant, using her voice and presenceto open hearts and lead others to connection with Source. Michelle served Jewish Renewal Congregation Nevei Kodesh as cantor for 11 years alongside Rabbi Tirzah Firestone, and more recently as lead prayer service leader. For her mastery as Jewish liturgist, Rabbi Zalman Schachter-Shalomi (z’’l) formally conferred upon her the title Ba’alat Tefilah.

Susan Berman is a singer, flutist, and choral leader, as well as a service leader actively involved in the Boulder community. Most recently, she collaborated with Michelle Wolf to lead Song Circle, an eclectic mix of Jewish, traditional, and contemporary chant and song. Susan has enjoyed many years of work as a music teacher, studio musician, private flute and vocal teacher, and gig musician with numerous music groups. Her exposure to indigenous culture, instruments, and vocal traditions while living in Taos, NM, for 30 years informed her Singer/Songwriter period, with three original CD releases. The albums are a fusion of world music, Jewish heritage, and American folk roots.

Michelle and Susan have been co-creating musical and ritual experiences for 10 years, and leading sacred song circles since 2020.
