The Golda Meir House Museum, located on the Auraria Campus, is hosting an “Only Woman in the Room” summer symposium on August 1, 2022. Attendees will hear from thought leaders discussing Israeli Prime Minister Golda Meir’s life-defining moments including how she broke down barriers and helped pave the way for women empowerment. There will also be a special musical performance by Gideon Meir, accomplished Israeli musician and Meir’s grandson.

The symposium will include a keynote address by Pnina Lahav, author of The Only Woman in the Room: Golda Meir and her Path to Power and a panel of other featured thought leaders including:

  • Meron Medzini: A spokesperson for Prime Minister Meir, author of Golda Meir, a Political Biography, and the son of Meir’s life-long best friend.

  • Sophia Berry Lifschitz: Curator of Modern Art for the Tel Aviv Museum of Art, Israel’s first art museum, founded in 1932 and dedicated to preserving and displaying modern and contemporary art from Israel and abroad.

  • Norma Joseph, PhD: Feminist activist, Associate Director of the Azrieli Institute of Israel Studies, Professor, Religions and Cultures, Concordia University.

  • Andrea Malcomb: Molly Brown House Museum Museum Director.
