Kol Nashim, the treble choir of the Colorado Hebrew Chorale announces a new series, “First Sundays” beginning Sunday, Oct. 2, 2022, 7:00 pm on Zoom and Facebook Live. The series features two popular Kol Nashim programs, “Text and Context” with Music Director Leah Peer alternating with “Jewish Broadway” with Miryam (Mimi) Raizen.
The interactive sessions of “Text and Context” will analyze the texts of songs Kol Nashim will sing during the 2022-2023 season. The first will be “Lu Yehi” (If Only), written by the late Israeli composer and singer Naomi Shemer (1930-2004) in 1973. Future sessions will take place on the first Sunday of December, April and June.
Mimi Raizen’s series examining the Jewish impact on Broadway is now entitled: “A Salute to Jewish Leading Ladies of Broadway.” It will begin on Nov. 6, featuring Sophie Tucker (1887-1966). The series will continue on the first Sunday of January, March and May.
“First Sundays” is free and open to the public. New registration is required at www.coloradohebrewchorale.org.
The Zoom link will be provided.
