B’nai Butte invites you to join Rabbi Mark Kula for a timely and important discussion around combating antisemitism at Townie Books/Rumors, located at 414 Elk Ave, Crested Butte on Saturday, January 28, 2023, 6-8PM. The discussion will be centered around “How to Fight Antisemitism“, a book by Barri Weiss which is available for purchase at Townie Books in advance of the talk or can be obtained via Audible, on Amazon or the public library.

About the Event: According to the FBI, Jewish hate crimes have topped the list of religiously motivated hate crimes in the US every single year since 1995. In 2022, acts of antisemitism continued to hit record-breaking numbers, including several incidents in our local communities, and not just because of Kanye West’s recent comments. Combating antisemitism begins with educating around its dangers, recognizing the current manifestations and gaining the tools to respond to these incidents locally, advocating for policy solutions nationally and building allies in our communities. Rabbi Mark Kula will lead an engaging talk centered around the book “How to Fight Anti-Semitism” and will offer insights on how we as individuals and a community can provide support in the global fight against antisemitism.

About the book: “Winner of the National Jewish Book Award. Author Barri Weiss, a former New York Times writer, delivers an urgent wake-up call to all Americans exposing the alarming rise of anti-Semitism in this country—and explains what we can do to defeat it.”

** Hot beverages will be available for purchase at Rumors prior to the start of the talk. Complimentary light appetizers and drinks will be available. *
