Become a Community Preparedness Ambassador

The Boulder JCC is partnering with the Boulder Office of Disaster Management for our Disaster Strong Preparedness Workshop, Train-the-Trainer.

This workshop is intended for participants who want to support preparedness efforts in the Boulder County community by becoming Community Preparedness Ambassadors who work to teach community peers the essentials of disaster preparedness. There’s no need to have any prior knowledge of disaster preparedness – this series will equip participants with all the info they’ll need to successfully facilitate the preparedness content to peers by covering emergency notification information, how to conduct a personal risk assessment, creating a plan, and facilitation skills.

Participants should bring a method for notetaking (notebook and writing utensil, laptop, etc.) and will leave with a copy of our Disaster Strong Facilitator Guide with access to our Community Preparedness Ambassadors webpage that contains all preparedness content with ways to connect with your fellow trainers.

Upon completion of this training our hope is that participants will work with their congregations, neighborhood associations, PTO, bowling league, book club or any other group you are associated with to help everyone be prepared.
