An Extraordinary Gathering Marking the Yahrzeit of Reb Zalman

This year marks the 10th Yahrzeit, anniversary of the passing, of Rabbi Zalman Schachter-Shalomi. Reb Zalman was a long time Boulder resident where he held the World Wisdom Chair at Naropa University. He is considered one of the most influential Jewish change-makers of his generation. His ideas and work spawned the worldwide Jewish Renewal movement, the Havurah movement, numerous Jewish retreat centers and innovative social-change programs, and the Interfaith Eldering Wisdom movement. His influence was and continues to be far reaching in the Jewish community.

We gather as a community to mark the occasion with a talk from Rabbi Chaim Dalfin. Rabbi Dalfin is author of the forth coming book The Real Zalman, an exploration of Reb Zalman’s dual identity as a Chassid and the founder of the Renewal Movement. We will also hear reflection and stories from the people who knew Reb Zalman. Light refreshments will be served.
