
This course will offer a clear, accessible overview of Kashrut, the Jewish dietary laws. What does it mean for a food to be Kosher? We will look at the sources for these laws and learn that they evolved over time. We will cover the practicalities of keeping kosher today, and look to make meaning out of these dietary instructions.
Julia Chatinover is a seasoned Jewish non-profit professional and experiential educator. Her career began as the program director and later assistant director at Camp Ramah in the Rockies. Julia has recently returned to Ramah as the Director of Leadership for the National Ramah Commission, which supports the 15+ overnight, day-camp, and Israel programs of the Ramah movement.
