A Celebration of Jewish Day Schools with Gary Torgow

Join us for an evening celebrating Jewish Day Schools, featuring Gary Torgow, Chair of the Jewish Federations of North America. Meet our local Day School leadership and boards and learn more about and the importance of Jewish Day Schools as central institutions of Jewish life.
We will be treated to inspiring words from Gary Torgow, Chairman of The Huntington National Bank and Chair of the Jewish Federations of North America.
About Gary Torgow
Gary Torgow is Chairman of Huntington Bank, a top 10 bank in the United States of America, with approximately $285 billion in assets and 30,000 colleagues across thirty-seven states and over 1,000 offices.
Huntington Bank is co-headquartered in downtown Detroit, where Gary’s office is in the Chairman’s suite of the Huntington Tower.
Mr. Torgow is Chairman of Business Leaders for Michigan, a roundtable of the top 100 CEOs and Chairpeople of the state’s leading companies.
Gary also serves on the public company boards of DTE Energy and Blue Cross Blue Shield of Michigan, one of the state’s largest medical insurers. Gary serves as Chairman of the Board of Trustees for Jewish Federations of North America and on the Board of Trustees of The Henry Ford.
Gary is a graduate of Yeshiva University and Wayne State University School of Law, where he received the Distinguished Alumni Award, and has received honorary Doctorates from Alma College and Eastern Michigan University, where he served as commencement speaker at both universities’ graduations.
Gary was Chairman of the 2026 NAACP Fight for Freedom Fund Dinner and was the recipient of the NAACP’s James Weldon Johnson Lifetime Achievement Award and the Urban League’s Distinguished Warrior Award.
Gary has led numerous and critical efforts to support communities across the state, including leading the corporate fundraising for the City of Detroit’s Strategic Neighborhood Fund, where over $250 million was raised for seven Detroit neighborhoods. Gary is the founder of the Sterling Group, a Detroit real estate and development company.
