To Our Colorado Community

Nov 20, 2022

To our Colorado Community:

We are deeply saddened and sickened by the senseless mass shooting last night at Club Q in Colorado Springs. Police now say five people were killed and 25 injured, and that the incident is being investigated as a hate crime. The suspect was apprehended, and based on police reports, was subdued by patrons.

JEWISHcolorado, the Jewish Community Relations Council, and our community partners, including the Anti-Defamation League, Rose Community Foundation, Rocky Mountain Rabbis and Cantors, and numerous LGBTQ organizations, are all working together to provide support and resources to help those grieving, and to bring our community together at this painful time.

We know in this and other incidents that training has been critical to preventing further loss of life. Training is provided at no cost to affinity groups, houses of worship, and nonprofit organizations through JEWISHcolorado’s Safety & Security Initiative.
