In response to the devastating wildfires that have erupted in Hawaii, JEWISHcolorado is raising funds for urgent humanitarian aid to victims. The Hawaii Wildfire Fund, launched by Jewish Federations of North America, will provide essentials including toiletries, first-aid kits, baby food and more to those affected by the fires. Jewish Federation partners are on the ground to assess additional needs.
Not only is support needed in Maui, but people are fleeing to Honolulu where Jewish communal organizations will be working to support those in need.
Jewish Federations have a long and proud history of response to global crises, aiding vulnerable Jewish populations and individuals of all faiths and backgrounds in the hardest-hit places. Funds have supported hundreds of relief efforts in the aftermath of major disasters, from earthquakes in the Middle East to tsunamis in Asia, to hurricanes and flooding in the Gulf to tornadoes in the Midwest.
JEWISHcolorado mobilizes resources to ensure that Jewish culture remains vibrant, secure, and accessible for all Jews in Colorado and abroad, acts on issues of concern to the local community, stewards our communal resources, and maintains living links with the people of Israel in partnership with local, national, and international agencies.
