Dear friends,
In the wake of yesterday’s horrific attacks on peaceful participants at the Run for Their Lives event in Boulder, our community is reeling but standing strong together. Since the moment this violence occurred, JEWISHcolorado has been in constant communication with Boulder Jewish Community leadership to assess immediate and ongoing needs.
Based on these conversations, we are launching an emergency fund to raise $160,000 in supplemental gifts. 100% of all donations will go to the Boulder community. These critical funds will be directed to four essential areas:
- Enhanced Safety and Security Measures: Providing additional protection for Jewish institutions, events, and gathering places throughout Boulder County.
- Direct Victim Support: Offering immediate financial assistance to those directly impacted by the attacks to help with medical expenses, lost wages, transportation, and other urgent personal needs.
- Comprehensive Trauma Support: Offering professional counseling and healing resources for both direct victims of the attacks and community members experiencing fear, anxiety, and secondary trauma.
- Emerging Community Needs: Creating flexibility to address unforeseen challenges that may arise as our community navigates this difficult period.
Thank you in advance for your support, and we continue to pray for a complete recovery for those injured in the attacks and continue to hold all hostages in our hearts.
Chag Sameach.
