The American Museum of Western Art – the Anschutz Collection is home to more than 600 works of art by a who’s-who of American art. Perhaps still a bit of a hidden treasure, the Museum is housed in the historic Navarre Building, a piece of Western history itself. Built from the collection and generosity of Philip Anschutz, the museum tells the story of westward expansion and Western life from 1820s to the present through the eyes of 180 artists. Take a virtual tour of some highlights of the collection and what they can tell us about our western heritage.
