Israel’s Existential War of Survival & the message for the West

These lectures will trace the Jewish connection to the Land of Israel from the times of King David & King Solomon & the history of the many conquerers over the last 3,500 years up till modern times. They will deal with how the media has reported on the war & all the main issues that Israel is accused of, Genocide, Colonialism, & Apartheid. We will analyse the problem with a Two State solution & examine the Arab Refugee Problem.

At the end of the course participants will have learned of the 3,500 year connection of the Jews with Israel, how the modern Middle East came about, the conflicts that make peace so illusive. How & why Israel’s attempts at peace have failed & how it connects to the civilizational struggle between Islam & the West & how to be an informed consumer of the news.

The lectures are under the auspices of DU in the Osher Life Long Learning Institute (Olli).
