Shalom Park and Beth Israel Foundation Announce Major Expansion of Jewish Senior Care in Colorado Shalom West to Become Colorado’s First Jewish Memory Care Community

Oct 1, 2026 | Article, Press Release

Shalom Park and Beth Israel Foundation have announced the opening of Shalom West, Memory Care at Shalom Park, Colorado’s first Jewish memory care community. The project marks the largest expansion of Jewish senior care in Colorado in more than 30 years and strengthens the continuum of care available on the Shalom Park campus.

Shalom West will join Shalom Park Nursing Home, the J. Leonard Levy Family Wellness Center, rehabilitation and therapy services, and neighboring V’Esprit Independent Living to create a comprehensive campus where older adults may receive care as their needs evolve while remaining connected to a trusted community.

“Shalom West is much more than a memory care community,” said Marc Penner, President and CEO of Beth Israel Foundation. “It reflects our commitment to ensuring that Colorado’s Jewish community has access to compassionate, culturally meaningful care at every stage of aging.”

The expansion follows market analysis showing growing demand for specialized dementia care in the region. Rather than constructing a new building, Beth Israel Foundation will transform an existing memory care community on the Shalom Park campus through renovations and Jewish cultural placemaking. The community will celebrate Jewish traditions, heritage, and identity while providing person-centered dementia care to people of all faiths.

Shalom West continues the vision of Beth Israel Foundation and Shalom Park’s founders by expanding services that support aging with dignity, purpose, and compassion. Philanthropic support will also help minimize long-term debt, strengthen the Foundation’s nonprofit mission, and support continued investment in personalized care.

“Shalom West is more than the expansion of a campus,” Penner added. “It is the continuation of a legacy. By transforming an existing community into a place rooted in Jewish culture, dignity, and belonging, we are ensuring that older adults and their families will have access to exceptional memory care for generations to come.”
