Regional Safety & Security Initiative

May 8, 2020

Since the inception of the COVID 19 Pandemic, the Regional Safety & Security Initiative has connected dozens of Jewish institutions with critical security resources, including Zoom training, provided updates and information from intelligence sources, and conducted in-person and remote security checks.

RS&SI director Tony Losito has conducted over 150 security checks for Jewish organizations in the Denver metro area to ensure the safety of institutions while they are closed. Among the concerns are burglary, vandalism, tagging and other graffiti, unauthorized entry, and other anomalies, and each check is followed with feedback and assistance finding the sometimes-specialized services needed to ameliorate both immediate and potential problems.

JEWISHcolorado chief operating officer Jeff Kline joined Tony on May 6 to give an online presentation to Jewish community leaders on planning for eventual reconstitution, recovery, and resumption of operations.

Tony connects daily with law enforcement and intelligence resources to review and disseminate key information that help protect our facilities, in addition to working with The Counter-Terrorism Learning Lab here in Denver to assemble online virtual safety and security training, which will be made available to our partner organizations.
