Event Details

Join Special Envoy Ellen Germain in conversation with Dean of the CU School of Education Kathy Schultz as they discuss how the Holocaust is taught and commemorated around the world and if those tools are slowing the growing tide of anti Semitism and Holocaust denial. You are welcomed to a pre-program reception at 6:30 pm.

Ellen Germain assumed her duties as Special Envoy for Holocaust Issues on August 23, 2021. The Office of the Special Envoy for Holocaust Issues, established in 1999, develops and implements U.S. policy to return Holocaust-era assets to their rightful owners, secure compensation for Nazi-era wrongs, and ensure that the Holocaust is remembered and commemorated appropriately. Educating the next generation about the horrors and causes of the Holocaust was recently made a requirement for public schools in Colorado, following a national movement to increase time dedicated to the subject in the classroom.

This program is supported by the Ilona Irene Rosenshein Holocaust Education Fund.
