Come join us for a showing and discussion of The Tattooed Torah by its producer and member of Bonai Shalom, Lisa Effress. The Tattooed Torah is an animated short film based on the renowned children’s book that has been teaching children about the Holocaust for generations.

Her current project is a feature-length documentary about the Ride for the Living, an annual cycling event from Auschwitz-Birkenau to Krakow, Poland, which is as an act of empathy… and is a journey that provokes a fresh look at the Holocaust and an examination of both extremes of human nature.

Lisa has served as Head of Production and/or Producer on film projects and ad campaigns and is currently Managing Partner of the award-winning, postproduction facility, 11 Dollar Bill, with offices in Raleigh, Chicago and Boulder.

When not producing, she spends every available minute with her husband, eleven-year-old daughter, and (whenever possible) two dogs, skiing, hiking, antiquing, traveling, and listening to music.
