Hosted by Colorado Jewish Climate Action and Ekar Farm, celebrate Tu Bishvat and Martin Luther King Jr. Day by joining scientists, community activists, and elected officials to learn why Colorado suffers from such bad air quality, which communities suffer the most, and the actions we can take to achieve climate justice.

Speakers include:

 

Aracely Navarro, Cultivando – A first-generation Chicana, daughter of Mexican and Guatemalan immigrants, Aracely believes deeply that there is great healing and decolonization needed for the land and the people. For this reason, Aracely’s work centers Environmental Justice and the healing of her community, the Mother Earth, all the generations that have come before and those that will come after. Aracely holds a Master of Public Health in Environmental Health from Emory University, as well as a Bachelor of Arts in Environmental Science from Colorado College.

 

Alex Valdez, State Representative for Colorado House District 5 – Alex believes that it is critical, especially in times like these, that we stay focused on policy that will create a better living world. He currently serves as the Chair of the Energy and Environment Committee. Prior to being elected, Alex was founder and CEO of a residential solar company.
