Beginning on
Wednesday May 7th, Judaism in the Foothills will be bringing a new class
on the Jewish Bible and Judaism to Golden, Colorado. The class, geared to those
who want to fill in the gaps of their knowledge of Judaism, will be held each
Wednesday evening at 7:30pm and will be taught by Judaism in the Foothills
executive director Rabbi Levi Brackman.
This interactive class
will show how spirituality and the Bible can bring meaning to people's lives.
Far from your typical pulpit sermon, Rabbi Brackman presents religion through
the eyes of Kabbalah, the source of Jewish mysticism, and gives the participants
meaningful ideas to integrate and apply to their own lives.
"Often the
Torah or the Hebrew Bible is thought of as an outdated book that merely
chronicles the lives of the ancients. I am going to bring it to life and show
people how to enhance their lives through ancient Jewish wisdom," explained
Brackman.
Rabbi Levi Brackman is also the author of the upcoming book
entitled, "Jewish Wisdom for Business Success: Lessons from the Torah and Other
Ancient Texts" to be published in September of this year by AMACOM.
"I
see this class as being very much in line with our mission which is to help
people find success coupled with meaning and fulfillment in everything they do"
Rabbi Brackman said. "The Hebrew Bible has tremendous wisdom through which
people can find meaning in everything they do both in their career and in their
business and this new class will teach the Bible in a way that incorporates
those aspects," Brackman concluded.
The class is open to the public and
will be hosted at a private home in Golden (contact Judaism in the Foothills for
details). Light refreshments will be served.
