Melissa grew up in Boca Raton, FL, went to NYU and stayed in NYC for almost 12 years. In 2017, she made the best decision of her life…moving to Colorado! YAD ambassadors and members were so warm and embracing, which made the transition a breeze! She knew she wanted to be the welcoming face for new (and old) Coloradans looking to connect with other young, awesome Jews! Melissa teaches a method of movement therapy for pain, flexibility, and balance called Gyrotonic (Google it!) In addition to meeting new people, she loves film, theatre, coffee, board games, novels, and FOOD!!

I moved to Denver in December of 2006 after living in New York City for about 8 years. I grew up in Omaha, NE and attended CU – Boulder, which is one of the reasons I ended up back in Colorado. I love the mountains, but more so for hiking rather than skiing. I’m an interior designer, which I find to be a great creative outlet. I love cooking, working out, reading, laughing, traveling, checking out new restaurants, going to concerts (all the normal stuff!) and spending time with my husband, Joe, and my dog, Emmie.

I grew up on a Moshav not far from Tel Aviv. Most of my adult life was spent in the Tel-Aviv area and hiking up the trails of Northern of Israel. I moved to Boulder Colorado in late 2008 and recently moved to Denver. My family is very important to me and I stay connected however I can (thank goodness for WhatsApp). I am the oldest of four siblings and have 75+ cousins. If you’d seen My Big Fat Greek Wedding, replace Greek with Israeli and that’s basically my family. Although all my family is still back in Israel, my love for the mountains made Colorado my home. I have a deep love for history. You can find vintage collectibles/toys/literature around my house- I’m always on the next special thing on eBay. I am a computer nerd, and acting as the Director of IT for Jewish Colorado. In my free time, I enjoy working with my hands/building stuff, Hiking, skiing and visiting the theater.

In South Florida born and raised, on the beach is where she spent most of her days, chilling out, fruit handling, eating deli all cool and schmoozing with Jews outside of school.
Sara slowly made her way up the coast and across the map, first stopping in Gainesville, FL (Go Gators!) to obtain a degree in Health Education then up to Philadelphia, PA to follow her calling with a degree in Nursing. Sara made the move to Denver in 2015 to pursue the best of both worlds: sunshine & changing seasons, working as a Pediatric Cardiology Nurse at Children’s Hospital Colorado. When she’s not saving lives or playing tricks on unsuspecting patients, you will most likely find Sara enjoying some fresh mountain air via skiing, hiking, trail running, biking or yoga-ing. She enjoys traveling, learning about other cultures, conversations about Science, appreciating Autumn leaves, Latin dancing and trying new cuisines. When identifying favorite foods, Sara will often name half sour pickles, Turkey Reubens, homemade ice cream, cannoli and sushi among her top cravings.
