JEWISHcolorado Welcomes Senior Israeli Emissary, Osnat Fox, for Another Year

May 16, 2018 – Denver, CO – JEWISHcolorado is thrilled to announce that our Senior Israeli Emissary, Osnat Fox, has agreed to extend her stay in Colorado and continue serving the Jewish community for another year. Osnat has played an invaluable role in building community and personal connections to Israel and its people over the past three years. In fact, with Osnat’s leadership, JEWISHcolorado has seen unprecedented success in several areas of critical programming for the Colorado community and advocacy work on behalf of Israel.

Osnat Fox was raised in a multi-cultural family who taught her how to work successfully with different faiths and people of all backgrounds. She lived in the United States as a child and her Israeli Army service was focused on working with new immigrants, helping them integrate into Israel and the Israeli Army. She holds a bachelor’s degree in Psychology and a master’s degree in Education Policy and Management. She has done extensive work with diverse populations in Israel focused on community building, engagement and education.

“I am thankful for the opportunity to continue serving the Colorado community and Israel. My family and I have been welcomed into this community with open arms and I am thankful for the friendship and support. These last three years have been life changing, being engaged with kids, teens and adults of all ages who allow me to share my perspective of Israel and who share thoughts and wisdom with me in return. The connection between American Jewry and Israel is crucially important and dynamic. I look forward to all the work and relationships this year will bring and to all that I will be able to bring back to Israel upon my return home in August 2019,” said Osnat.

Osnat’s ability to engage in new and innovative cultural exchanges has brought new programming to life for children and teens; expanded engagement activities in the Boulder Jewish community; launched an Israel-based life-long learning curriculum at the University of Denver; and established new connections between Israel and several faiths and religious institutions throughout Colorado. This past year Osnat led successful events to Celebrate Israel’s 70th birthday including Yom Hazikaron, Israel’s remembrance ceremony for fallen soldiers and terror victims; Yom Ha’atzmaut in Boulder; and Celebrate Israel. Coming from Colorado’s partnership region of Ramat HaNegev, Osnat has also built new programs and expanded travel opportunities for Coloradans who wish to visit this region in Israel and connect with its land and people. Currently, over 400 Coloradans visit Ramat HaNegev every year.

“We are delighted to have Osnat with us for another year and grateful to the Jewish Agency for Israel, our partner in this endeavor, for its ongoing support. During this next year we will continue to expand and deepen our connections, partnerships and programs between the people of Israel and Colorado,” said interim President and CEO Marsha Hurwitz.
