JEWISHcolorado and JCRC Applaud Law Enforcement In Identifying Bomb Threat Suspect

March 23, 2017—Israeli police announced today that they had arrested a 19 year old man with dual Israel-U.S. citizenship as the primary suspect for the majority of bomb threats that have been called into Jewish Community Centers and other Jewish institutions in 40 U.S. states and four Canadian provinces.

“The FBI, Department of Homeland Security, Israeli law enforcement, the Jewish Federations of North America’s Secure Community Network, Anti-Defamation League and other partners provided an unprecedented level of time, resources and collaboration to this investigation,” said Doug Seserman, CEO of JEWISHcolorado. “We are thankful that an arrest has been made of an individual believed to have been the perpetrator of the majority of the bomb threats against JCCs, schools, synagogues and ADL offices across the country.”

“The bomb threats were of great concern to our entire community,” said Ben Lusher, Chair of JCRC. “The Jewish Community Relations Council expresses its appreciation to all those that are working to bring the perpetrator to justice so that the more than 35 Jewish organizations we represent, as well as their staffs and the children, families and public that utilize their services, can do so without fear.”
