Jewish Explorers

Jewish Explorers is a multi-age, enrichment program that welcomes Jewish and Interfaith families with preschool and elementary school-aged children. Jewish Explorers offers weekly and monthly classroom programs, and Shabbat dinners and holiday celebrations throughout the year. Jewish Explorers provides opportunities for families to explore Judaism together and learn about Jewish values, culture, traditions, history, and holidays in the Highlands and Stapleton communities. Through a fun, innovative and experiential educational framework, Jewish Explorers engages, educates, and empowers families to find meaningful and relevant ways to practice Judaism in their homes and out in the community.

JEWISH EXPLORERS REGISTRATION WILL OPEN MID-JULY 2019

Stapleton Jewish Explorers (SJE) K-5th Grade Program – NOW IN YEAR 7

Weekly drop-off program for children entering K-5th grade. Classes meet on Tuesdays from 4:15-5:30 pm, September – May, at the Central Park Recreation Center, 9651 E. Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard, Denver, 80238. A light snack will be provided.

SJE K-5th Grade Tuition:

  • First Child: $520
  • Second+ Child: $472 (discount offered to siblings enrolled in same classroom program)

SJE K-5th Grade Class Schedule:

2019: 
September: 10th, 17th, 24th
October: 15th, 29th (No class: 10/1, 10/8 and 10/22 due to Jewish holidays)
November: 5th, 12th, 19th, (No class: 11/26 due to Thanksgiving break)
December: 3rd, 10th, 17th (No class: 12/24 and 12/31 due to winter break)

2020:
January: 7th, 14th, 21st, 28th
February: 4th, 11th, 18th, 25th
March: 10th, 17th, 24th (No class: 3/31 due to spring break)
April: 7th, 21st, 28th (No class: 4/14 due to Passover)
May: 5th

Stapleton Jewish Explorers (SJE) Family Program 

This is a monthly Family program for 2-5 year olds. This class is designed for parents and grandparents to participate along with their student. Classes meet one Sunday each month from 10:30 am -12:00 pm, September-April, at the Central Park Recreation Center, 9651 E. Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard, Denver, 80238. A light snack will be provided.

  • First Child: $180
  • Second+ Child: $172 (discount offered to siblings enrolled in same classroom program)

Highlands Jewish Explorers (HJE) Family Program – NOW IN YEAR 6

This is a monthly Family program for 2-5 year olds. This class is designed for parents and grandparents to participate along with their student. Classes meet one Sunday each month from 10:30 am -12:00 pm, September-April, at the William Scheitler Recreation Center, 5031 W. 46th Avenue, Denver, CO 80212. A light snack will be provided.

  • First Child: $180
  • Second+ Child: $172 (discount offered to siblings enrolled in same classroom program)

Highlands Jewish Explorers (HJE) K-5th Grade Program – NOW IN YEAR 5

This is a monthly drop-off program for children entering K-5th grade. We offer a K-2nd grade class and a 3rd-5th grade class. These classes meet at the same time on Sunday each month and run concurrently with the Family Program, from 10:30am-12:00pm at the William Scheitler Recreation Center, 5032 W. 46th Avenue, Denver, CO 80212. A light snack will be provided.

HJE K-5th Grade Tuition:

  • First Child: $168
  • Second+ Child: $158 (discount offered to siblings enrolled in K-5th grade program)

Shabbat dinners and Holiday celebrations are offered throughout the year and are open to Stapleton and Highlands Jewish Explorers families, their extended family and friends, and to the greater community.

Cindy is the Director and Founder of Jewish Explorers, a program of JEWISHcolorado, which welcomes Jewish and Interfaith families with preschool and elementary school-aged children. Cindy helped create, develop, and grow this innovative multi-age program, which teaches children and their families about Jewish values, culture, traditions, history, and holidays through a fun, interactive, experiential educational framework. Jewish Explorers offers weekly and monthly immersive classroom programs and Shabbat dinners, holiday celebrations and community-partnered events throughout the year.

Cindy earned her Master of Science in Occupational Therapy with a specialty in Pediatrics from Columbia University and her Bachelor of Science in Early Childhood Education from the University of Delaware. She has over 30 years of experience working with children and their families as a Pediatric Occupational Therapist and as an educator and volunteer in the Denver Jewish Community. Cindy is excited to share her love of and passion for Judaism and teaching with the community and loves working with children and their families, providing opportunities to explore Judaism together in fun and meaningful ways.
