Irena Sendler “Angel of the Warsaw Ghetto” presentation by Judy Winnick

This presentation is performed as a 1-act program, followed by Q & A’s, in and out of character, by Judy Winnick, who is on the Colorado Humanities/Chautauqa Speakers Bureau and has performed nationally and internationally. Irena Sendler was a Polish Catholic social worker during WWII, who risked her life and was responsible for rescuing 2,500 Jewish children from the Warsaw Ghetto. She was nominated for the Nobel Peace Prize in 2007, died in Warsaw in 2008 at the age of 98, and was recognized by the state of Israel as one of the “Righteous Among Nations” at Yad Vashem. There is no charge for attendees for this performance, but donations to her program would be appreciated.This will take place on Sunday, April 26, from 1:00pm – 2:00pm in Temple Emanuel’s Feiner Chapel. Refreshments will follow.
