JEWISHcolorado is appreciative to those individuals who choose to make generous charitable contributions through Giving Societies. Consider joining one of our many Giving Societies; see below for details about each society and relevant contact information.

Giving Societies for Women Only:

Pomegranate Society

The Pomegranate Society is a national recognition society established in 1981 in Allentown, Pennsylvania to encourage and recognize women who make a minimum individual gift of $1,800 to Federation’s Annual Community Campaign. The Pomegranate symbol is one of bounty, sustenance and power, all three attributes by which women are blessed. The Federation embodies and honors these qualities.

Women who make commitments at this level are invited to attend the Pomegranate Society’s annual event to be recognized and honored. Approximately 150 women in the Denver/Boulder Jewish community choose to proudly wear the Pomegranate pin, along with over 5,000 women nationally, as a symbol of their commitment and philanthropic leadership. These beautiful, sterling silver pins are available for purchase through the Jewish Women’s Philanthropy Center office.

Please contact Sarah Langert at 303.316.6459, or SLangert@JEWISHcolorado.org to join this group and/or to learn more.

Lion of Judah Society

The Lion of Judah recognition program was introduced by the Miami Jewish Federation in 1972, and endorsed nationally in 1980, to honor philanthropic women. By acting on the strong belief that tzedakah is an individual responsibility, Lions of Judah make a significant and continuing personal gift to the Allied Jewish Federation of Colorado’s annual campaign.

More than 13,000 women in North America, Israel and around the world are recognized as Lions of Judah by their peers. In Colorado, over 174 women who contribute a minimum of $5,000 to Federation’s Annual Community Campaign proudly wear the Lion of Judah pin as a symbol of their commitment.

Women who make commitments at this level are invited to attend the Lion of Judah Society’s annual event to be recognized and honored.

Please contact Sarah Langert at 303.316.6459, or SLangert@JEWISHcolorado.org to join this group and/or to learn more.

Lion of Judah Endowment (LOJE)

A LOJE gift represents the creation of a permanent fund guaranteeing that a woman’s yearly financial commitment of $5,000 or more to the campaign will be made in her name every year after her lifetime.

Giving Societies for Young Adults:

Ben-Gurion Society (BGS)

Throughout his life, David Ben-Gurion never forgot that God said the Israelites must become a unique nation, a nation that embraces the higher virtues of truth, justice and compassion. In 1948, David Ben-Gurion became the face of a great new generation of Jews. His single-minded passion for the Jewish people is as much a part of his legacy as is the State of Israel itself. Today, Federation’s Ben-Gurion Society embodies that legacy—young men and women combining their power, passion and resources to build a strong and responsible Jewish community, at home, in Israel and around the world.

All donors, ages 30-46, who make a contribution of $1,000 or more to the Federation’s Annual Campaign are members of the Ben-Gurion Society. Benefits typically include invitations and V.I.P. treatment to professional and networking events locally and nationally.

For more information about the leadership opportunities available to young adults, contact YAD YAD@JEWISHcolorado.org.

National Young Leadership Cabinet

The National Young Leadership Cabinet recognizes men and women ages 25 to 45 who make a gift of at least $5,000 to the community’s Annual Campaign, with at least $3,600 designated to support Federation’s Core Funds. Membership is by invitation only. National Young Leadership Cabinet is a six-year leadership development program, comprised of approximately 375 men and women (across the U.S. and Canada) who demonstrate the highest levels of leadership to the community. The Cabinet provides opportunity for the great minds in our community to take the next step, producing leaders who have gone on to assume the most important roles in their respective local Jewish communities and beyond on a national level. Many of the Federation local alumni have gone on to chair Federation boards, campaigns and the Coordinating Council.
