For the past 25 years, UJA Aspen Valley has operated as a network community of Jewish Federations of North America (JFNA). UJA Aspen Valley secures and enriches a bright Jewish future in the Roaring Fork Valley, Israel and around the world. Our work is informed and inspired by our commitment to the values of Chesed (caring and compassion), Torah (Jewish learning), Tikkun Olam (repairing the world), Tzedakah (social justice), and Klal Yisrael (shared community and shared sense of responsibility).
We are proud to support local congregations, including the Aspen Jewish Congregation, Chabad Jewish Community Center, and Neshama Center, as well as funding scholarships for area children to attend Jewish summer camp.
Golshim L’Chaim (Ski to Live), is a volunteer-based program that brings disabled Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) veteran soldiers to Aspen for a week of healing and physical challenge.
In collaboration with Chabad Jewish Community Center of Aspen, Golshim L’Chaim provided 16 IDF veteran men and women in 2015 with a week-long opportunity to ski and snowboard. A documentary, Beyond the Boundaries, shares the experiences of four participants as they savor the freedom from wheelchairs and disabilities and conquer the mountains.
PJ Library provides children in the Roaring Fork Valley, ages six months to eight years, with an opportunity to explore the timeless values of Judaism through free, high-quality books and music.
PJ Library is a program of the Harold Grinspoon Foundation and is made possible by your generous support.
Bar and Bat Mitzvah students within the Aspen community are eligible to receive a stipend for a qualifying trip to Israel. The trip has proven to be a unique opportunity for families to strengthen their Jewish connection and identity.
UJA Aspen Valley is committed to supporting Israel and other partner organizations
working overseas, such as The Jewish Agency for Israel (JAFI) and the American
Jewish Joint Distribution Committee (JDC). We provide significant funding to ensure that life-saving and life-enhancing services are available for those in need. This includes trauma counseling and financial assistance for families in Southern Israel and providing relief to thousands of poor, elderly Jews in the Former Soviet Union.
In Israel and around the world, your donations enable us to provide life-saving and life-enhancing services for those in need. This includes giving trauma counseling and financial assistance to families in southern Israel who have suffered from rocket attacks rescuing Jews from countries of distress and providing relief to thousands of our poor, elderly brethren in the FSU. It also includes funding training and educational programs to break the cycle of poverty, supporting absorption centers to help new immigrants successfully integrate into Israeli society and offering mentoring programs for at-risk teenage girls through Jump Start.
Donations to UJA Aspen Valley’s Annual Campaign fund overseas partnership agencies such as The Jewish Agency for Israel (JAFI) and the American Jewish Joint Distribution Committee (JDC). They also help to ensure a bright Jewish future by supporting the Jewish community in the Roaring Fork Valley through funding to local synagogues, day schools, summer camps, and more. We are proud to be able to run our operations with minimal overhead.
